L’histoire s’est encore répétée ce samedi 27 janvier, comme en 2019 et en huitièmes de finale, les Super Eagles du Nigéria ont récidivé en battant les Lions indomptables du Cameroun 2 buts à 0. Ademola Lookman sur une passe de Victor Osimhen ouvre le score pour le Nigéria à la 36e minute. Le score est resté inchangé jusqu’à la pause.
En seconde partie du jeu le Cameroun prend le jeu en son compte mais reste inoffensif à l’approche des buts nigérians.
C’est ainsi que sur une contre-attaque Calvin Bassey va servir Ademola Lookman pour le 2-0 à la 90e minute .
Le Nigéria rejoint ainsi l’Angola en quart de finale.
